Position Overview

The Property Investment Analyst will conduct comprehensive financial assessments to facilitate property financing, acquisition, marketing, and leasing strategies. This role involves providing insights to senior management based on prevailing economic conditions, market dynamics, and financial analyses. The analyst will investigate market trends and data to project future industry developments and optimize cash utilization in alignment with corporate objectives. Additionally, the analyst will carry out due diligence and underwriting processes for prospective acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess development proformas and operational statements of properties under consideration for investment or development to ascertain feasibility and valuation.
  • Focus primarily on multifamily and mixed-use properties, whether in development or stabilized phases.
  • Assist in the evaluation of potential investments and prepare detailed approval documentation for investment opportunities.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence for property transactions.
  • Support program and contract management by preparing and reviewing acquisition and program management documents, briefings, reports, and metrics.
  • Oversee lender and bank reporting, as well as audit and compliance processes on a quarterly or annual basis, or as required.
  • Contribute to the drafting of investment memoranda or prospectus packages.
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the Investment team and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly updates and reports for investors.
  • Perform competitive market analysis to evaluate metrics against existing competitors.
  • Develop and refine investment models, with the capability to create new financial models as needed.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, real estate, or finance is preferred. Previous experience in business case development is advantageous.
  • One to three years of experience in commercial real estate is required, with a focus on multifamily properties.
  • Proficiency in navigating and constructing complex financial models for underwriting commercial real estate.
  • Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles, with the ability to apply these concepts in financial modeling.
  • Excellent organizational skills, capable of prioritizing and managing multiple projects efficiently.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Argus software.
  • Familiarity with real estate finance, operations, leasing, and development concepts.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are essential.
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with spreadsheet analysis is required.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and meticulous attention to detail.
