POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Finance Director for Resort Operations serves as a proactive and trusted business leader, delivering financial and accounting insights to on-site management teams. This role is essential for facilitating timely and informed decision-making, enhancing business value, and managing financial risks. The position ensures compliance with financial regulations and oversees comprehensive financial reporting and analysis for ancillary business operations.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing financial products and services tailored to the organization's needs. The Director guarantees adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and corporate policies, while also supervising daily operations and providing leadership to the Finance & Accounting team.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred, or a related field; 6-8 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting; or,
  • High School Diploma/GED with equivalent professional experience.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Financial Planning & Collaboration:

  • Establish and nurture effective relationships with a diverse range of business partners to foster trust and influence decision-making.
  • Develop comprehensive annual business plans for the property owners' association and on-site operations, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
  • Oversee cash flow management and profit forecasting to facilitate timely adjustments by stakeholders.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

  • Ensure the integrity of financial reporting and accounting operations through a robust internal controls framework.
  • Conduct property-level self-assessments and assist with various audits to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Prepare documentation for external audits, providing clear explanations of financial variances.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Inspire, mentor, and recruit a team of Finance & Accounting professionals.
  • Deliver real-time financial analysis and guidance to on-site leaders and the property owners' association Board.
  • Align Finance & Accounting goals with organizational objectives and lead initiatives to support company strategies.

Financial Analysis & Improvement:

  • Provide analytical support during budget reviews and capital planning to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Monitor actual financial results against projections, offering variance explanations and strategies for profit enhancement.
  • Direct the financial reporting process, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
