Fleet Procurement Specialist

About the Role:

The Fleet Procurement Sourcing Specialist will work closely with Managers and fleet Subject Matter Experts to understand business needs and identify potential solutions. This role is responsible for procuring and negotiating price and production capacity to create benefits and increase company profit, efficiency, and service levels to support US Foods divisional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information for bid proposals
  • Support development of bid documentation, including RFI/RFP/RFQ
  • Arrange bid initiation meetings and define the structure of the proposal
  • Partner with vendors and partners to ensure bid requirements are met
  • Analyze and evaluate the bid process and timelines for assigned bids
  • Execute Vendor Performance Routines, including regular business reviews and providing feedback to Vendors using scorecards
  • Track and report bid performances

Relationships:

Internal: Fleet Maintenance Operation, Legal, Finance

External: Fleet vendors and suppliers

Requirements:

  • 3 years of transportation, logistics, and/or supply chain experience
  • Broad knowledge of transportation industry and carrier operations
  • Sourcing experience
  • Knowledge of various transportation assets and services
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proven relationship building skills with ability to communicate with carrier leadership
  • Highly analytical, with ability to conduct basic analyses independently
  • Independent, self-motivated, proactive team player with strong work ethic

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, logistics, transportation, supply chain, or equivalent experience
