Job Summary

The Paraprofessional - Behavior Support will provide essential support to students with complex behavioral needs in a school setting. This role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students in achieving their academic and behavioral goals, working closely with teachers and related service teams.
  • Implement individualized IEPs and behavior plans, providing support and guidance to students as needed.
  • Provide daily support to students, including assistance with self-care, feeding, and mobility.
  • Collaborate with the behavior department to develop and implement behavior plans, collecting and recording data as directed.
  • Attend and participate in behavior-specific trainings and meetings, responding timely and appropriately to challenging behavior.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree or coursework in education preferred.
  • One to three years of relevant experience in healthcare, childcare, or school-based settings preferred.
  • First aid and CPR certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an ABA environment or equivalent role for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred.
  • Formal training in psychology, sociology, human behavior, mental health, special education, and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred.

Compensation Range
  • $18.31 to $21.41 per hour.
