Role Responsibilities
As a pivotal member of the Software Engineering team within NIBR's Informatics organization, you will be instrumental in creating next-generation software solutions that enhance the acquisition, storage, integration, analysis, visualization, and interpretation of diverse data types.

  • Design and develop cutting-edge software tools and methodologies to facilitate the entire design-make-test-analyze cycle.
  • Contribute significantly to the development of tools and technologies for large-scale data integration, processing, analysis, and visualization.
  • Collaborate within a cross-functional product team to convert business requirements into robust, functional, and aesthetically pleasing products.
  • Engage in the complete development lifecycle from product inception, research, and prototyping to final production release.
  • Adopt an action-oriented mindset, agile development principles, and industry-standard software development practices.
  • Exhibit strong technical leadership while maintaining a learning and listening approach.
  • Incorporate software development best practices into daily operations and inspire peers to follow suit.
  • Ensure compliance with global Information Security and Quality standards for all products and services.
  • Where applicable, uphold Regulatory Compliance standards for GxP products and services.

This role is based at the Novartis Cambridge site and does not offer remote work options. Relocation assistance may be available.

Compensation and Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is between $124,000 and $186,000 per year. However, salary ranges are subject to adjustments based on market conditions. Final compensation will depend on various factors, including geographical location, experience, skills, and qualifications.

The total compensation package may also include additional elements such as sign-on bonuses, stock options, and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, financial, and other benefits.

Minimum Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Over 10 years of experience in developing commercial-quality cloud-based solutions at scale.
  • Proven capability to lead technical aspects of complex products.
  • Expertise in improving processes and methodologies across product lines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence effectively in a matrixed environment.
  • Extensive experience with modern programming languages and software development environments.
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experience with cloud and container technologies.
  • Proficiency in web service development.
  • Knowledge of software development management tools.
  • A structured working style with clear communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • A keen attention to detail and a passion for user experience.
  • A degree in computer science, information systems, life sciences, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
