Position Overview: The Installation & Service Technician at Kemp's Machine Company is vital for the effective installation and ongoing service of our products. This role demands high technical proficiency and precision. The technician is essential for ensuring that all operational machinery and equipment are ready and capable of performing their required functions. Your ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment will directly influence operational efficiency, system reliability, and overall productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting and understanding layout and installation schematics and specifications.
  • Conducting routine maintenance inspections and scheduling necessary repairs.
  • Troubleshooting equipment and diagnosing operational issues.
  • Implementing preventative maintenance strategies to extend equipment lifespan.
  • Replacing damaged or outdated components in machinery.
  • Collaborating with team members to improve system performance.
  • Documenting and maintaining records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Executing installations of fabricated and welded components and machinery with precision and adherence to specifications.
  • Engaging with customers to identify and resolve any issues during or after installation.
  • Traveling up to 40% of the time to customer locations, including international destinations, for installations and factory certifications.
  • Communicating effectively with customers to provide clear instructions and resolve any issues.
  • Welcoming and integrating constructive feedback to continuously enhance performance and skills.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations in the workplace.
  • Maintaining accurate records of installations, including time logs, materials used, and any encountered issues.
  • Experience and knowledge of low voltage electrical systems is advantageous but not mandatory.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience in fabrication and welding, with a strong record of successful equipment installations.
  • Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, organizational abilities, and efficient time management.
  • Independence: Ability to work autonomously and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, including international travel.
  • Must possess a valid passport.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • Learning: Openness to acquiring new techniques and technologies, including obtaining factory certifications from our esteemed partners.
  • Ethics: Demonstrated commitment to integrity, hard work, and high ethical standards.
