Job Overview

The role of a Universal Banker involves delivering exceptional service to the Bank's clientele in a professional, respectful, and confidential manner. This position is crucial for promoting and facilitating the Bank's deposit products and services while adhering to established guidelines and fostering business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  1. Ensure all tasks are executed accurately and in compliance with Bank policies and procedures.
  2. Handle responsibilities related to loan processing, including generation, closing, administration, and collections.
  3. Welcome customers and prospects, promoting the Bank's offerings and cross-selling relevant products and services.
  4. Process checking and savings deposits, verifying cash and endorsements, and issuing receipts.
  5. Assess checks for proper funds availability and complete Hold Notices as necessary.
  6. Facilitate savings withdrawals and cash checks, ensuring proper identification and endorsement verification.
  7. Detect counterfeit currency and manage loan payments, verifying amounts and issuing receipts.
  8. Conduct currency transactions from the vault while maintaining branch cash limits.
  9. Balance cash drawers daily and ensure adequate supplies at branch stations.
  10. Follow protocols for managing dormant accounts and utilize scanning technology for daily operations.
  11. Meet assigned sales and referral targets while keeping management informed of customer feedback.
  12. Address basic inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges, and account histories while adhering to disclosure requirements.
  13. Direct customers to appropriate departments for unresolved issues.
  14. Participate in scheduled meetings and assist with coin counting.
  15. Possess the ability to override transactions when necessary.
  16. Support ATM balancing and cash order handling as needed.
  17. Open new deposit accounts and engage in cross-selling and telemarketing of Bank products based on customer needs.
  18. Ensure compliance with policies and regulations when processing deposit products and services.
  19. Communicate terms and conditions clearly to customers, ensuring their understanding.
  20. Contact customers for necessary signatures on documents with discrepancies.
  21. Provide complete product and insurance information to customers.
  22. Refer mortgage and commercial inquiries to the appropriate departments.
  23. Prepare management reports as required and respond to customer inquiries professionally.
  24. Assist with routine account-related requests, including funds transfers and inquiries about banking services.
  25. Log new accounts accurately and complete follow-up documentation.
  26. Engage with customers regarding negative account balances to develop supportive solutions.
  27. Open and close the branch while adhering to security protocols.
  28. Act as a liaison to lending departments as needed.
  29. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities

Adhere to the policies and procedures of First Federal Bank of Wisconsin and comply with all relevant state and federal banking regulations.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in cash handling or sales is preferred, along with prior customer service experience. Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.

Skills

Strong customer service skills are vital, along with the ability to prioritize tasks and make informed decisions regarding customer transactions. A comprehensive understanding of Bank deposit products and policies, as well as basic knowledge of loan products, is necessary. Familiarity with federal regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and others, is also important.
