Job Summary: The Appointment Scheduler/Coordinator is responsible for organizing appointments and procedures for both inpatient and outpatient services.Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma is required. Candidates must possess at least three years of prior scheduling experience. Responsibilities include educating patients regarding pre-procedure requirements such as laboratory tests, imaging studies, history and physical examinations, dietary restrictions, and any other pertinent details. The role may also involve communicating instructions to patients' families as needed. The Scheduler/Coordinator follows up to ensure that patients have fulfilled all necessary pre-procedure requirements. This position also involves maintaining and updating any changes in preparation and procedures. Additionally, the Scheduler/Coordinator is tasked with sending all relevant documentation to the hospital or other offices to ensure accurate and timely scheduling of procedures and surgeries.
