Critical Care Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at SSM Health. As a Critical Care Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, assessing and evaluating patients' physical and emotional needs, and developing individualized care plans to meet those needs.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, including ordering and administering medications, performing procedures, and providing education to patients and families.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, lab results, and other data to identify potential complications and take prompt action to prevent or manage them.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to promote best practices.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current RN license in the state of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification, or equivalent.
- Experience in critical care nursing, preferably in an ICU setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift, move, and position patients, as well as stand for long periods.
