Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team at Marugame Udon. As a Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant, including managing employees, inventory, and finances. You will also be responsible for ensuring that our guests have an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily restaurant operations, including employee scheduling, inventory management, and financial planning.
  • Oversee the selection, development, and performance management of employees.
  • Ensure that all financial and personnel-related administrative duties are completed accurately and on time.
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
  • Estimate food and beverage costs, work with corporate office staff for efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies, and schedule the delivery of fresh food and supplies.
  • Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
  • Ensure that proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, guests, and company assets.
  • Manage shifts, including daily decision making, scheduling, planning, and upholding standards, product quality, and cleanliness.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service.
  • Interview hourly employees, direct hiring, supervision, development, and, when necessary, termination of employees.
  • Conduct orientation, explain the company policies, and oversee the training of new employees.
  • Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date plan of restaurant staffing needs.
  • Prepare schedules and ensure the restaurant is staffed for all shifts.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in hospitality, business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in restaurant management or related field.
  • Proven track record of success in managing employees, inventory, and finances.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
