Marina and Facilities Maintenance Foreperson

Join the Port of Olympia team as a Marina and Facilities Maintenance Foreperson. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for providing direction and supervision for the Port's Marina & Facilities maintenance program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide team leadership for marina facilities and maintenance staff in a positive and professional manner.
- Coordinate with other Port staff to promote and provide a positive Port First team environment.
- Lead and participate in advanced-level maintenance jobs, providing follow-up and recommendations.
- Prepare and review work orders, material requisitions, reports, and other written and computerized systems for documentation.
- Coordinate the procurement and scheduled use of resources such as labor, equipment, and materials to ensure maximum use and completion of work within a budget, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
Requirements:
- The equivalent of a G.E.D. or higher education.
- Technical school training in mechanics, hydraulics, air or electrical systems, or a minimum of six years experience working in the building or mechanical trades.
- Professional-level knowledge for maintenance shop procedures and practices; safety practices, safe work methods, and safety regulations of the trades listed in job duties.
- Experience in supervising a positive teamwork environment, and a strong emphasis on communication skills to positively participate as an essential player in the overall effectiveness of the marina facilities and maintenance team.
- Experience with cost estimating, project planning and coordination, contract compliance, and knowledge of regulatory codes.
