Job Summary

The Billing Team Lead is a key member of the Patient Accounting team at AtlantiCare, responsible for overseeing the daily billing and collection activities of assigned staff. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to ensure timely submission of bills, productivity of collection efforts, and balance of all billing functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and supervise daily billing and collection activities
  • Work with the Billing Manager to correct billing edit errors and improve electronic processes
  • Monitor productivity of billing and collections staff through workflow tools
  • Investigate and resolve system-related contractual issues
  • Provide training and support to staff members
  • Participate in performance improvement efforts and demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and cooperation
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred
  • 2-4 years of billing/accounts receivable experience required
  • Knowledge of Patient Accounting tools, including HBOC McKesson STAR and Microsoft Excel
  • Overall knowledge of billing requirements and contractual arrangements for all third-party payers
  • Good communication and writing skills required
Work Environment

This position requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping, and crouching a majority of the workday. Works with equipment such as computer terminals, fax machines, printers, and copiers.
