Job Description

The Professional Liability Underwriting Intern will work closely with underwriters to analyze and assess risk profiles, determine appropriate price and terms, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves working with a range of stakeholders, including underwriting staff, brokers, and clients.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze underwriting submissions for new and renewal accounts, assessing risk exposures and determining price adequacy.
  • Work with underwriting staff to analyze and improve broker relationships, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Assist in the development of underwriting reports and presentations, providing insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the analysis of notable trends and macro factors, helping to determine optimal portfolio breakdown.
  • Research and present a final project to the Professional Liability staff, demonstrating expertise and knowledge in the field.
Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, with the ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree, preferably in a field related to risk management or underwriting.
