Job Title: Pre-School Evaluator

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pre-School Evaluator to join our team at Mobile County Public School System. As a Pre-School Evaluator, you will play a critical role in assessing the developmental needs of young children and providing recommendations for support and intervention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult with parents, teachers, and other school personnel to develop and implement strategies for maximizing learning and adjustment in students.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to ensure seamless collaboration and support.
  • Attend IEP Team meetings and provide expert input on student assessments and recommendations.
  • Administer and interpret individual developmental and language evaluations for students of all ages.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive written reports on student assessments and progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to plan, develop, and evaluate programs that meet the identified learning and adjustment needs of students.
  • Apply professional ethics and standards, as well as relevant laws and policies, in all aspects of practice.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Provide in-service training to parents and staff on relevant topics.
  • Utilize PowerSchool SIS and other relevant systems to support student assessment and progress monitoring.
  • Travel to various schools or other sites as assigned.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and committee meetings as required.
  • Supervise interns as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records and data in all sources.
  • Recognize and effectively address issues of diversity that impact routine interactions.

Qualifications:

We are seeking a candidate with a Master's degree in Educational Psychology, School Psychology, Psychometry, Special Education, or Speech Language Pathology from a regionally accredited college or university. Certification as a Psychometrist or School Psychologist by the Alabama State Department of Education is preferred. A minimum of three years of teaching experience or Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) is also preferred. Strong typing skills and familiarity with word processing and database software are required.
