We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pre-School Evaluator to join our team at Mobile County Public School System.
Key Responsibilities- Serves as a consultant to parents, teachers, and other school personnel to develop and implement strategies to maximize student learning and adjustment.
- Communicates effectively with students, parents, and school staff to ensure seamless collaboration and support.
- Attends IEP Team meetings to provide expert input and guidance on student assessments and development.
- Administers and interprets individual developmental and language evaluations for students of all ages.
- Develops comprehensive written reports to inform instruction and support student growth.
- Collaborates with teachers and staff to design and implement programs that meet the unique needs of students.
- Applies ethical standards and relevant laws and policies to ensure best practices in student assessment and support.
- Stays current with professional knowledge and skills through ongoing training and professional development.
- Provides in-service training to parents and staff on relevant topics to enhance student support and success.
- Utilizes technology, such as PowerSchool SIS, to support student assessment and data-driven decision making.
- Travels to various schools and sites as assigned to provide support and services.
- Attends scheduled staff meetings and committee meetings to stay informed and contribute to team efforts.
- Supervises interns as assigned to provide guidance and support in their professional development.
- Maintains confidentiality and adheres to procedural safeguards to protect student records and data.
- Recognizes and responds to issues of diversity that impact student interactions and support.
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a Master's degree in Educational Psychology, School Psychology, Psychometry, Special Education, or Speech Language Pathology from a regionally accredited college or university. Certification as a Psychometrist or School Psychologist by the Alabama State Department of Education is preferred. A minimum of three years of teaching experience or Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) certification is also preferred. Strong typing skills and familiarity with word processing and database software are required.
