The University City Science Center is seeking a Government Grants Manager – Post Award to play a pivotal role in our organization, which is dedicated to advancing life sciences innovation. Key Responsibilities

The Grants Manager will be responsible for:

  1. Onboarding Process: Overseeing the acceptance of government funding, which includes the creation and maintenance of profiles on government platforms and notifying relevant staff about new funding opportunities.
  2. Funder Relations: Acting as a secondary contact for funding agency representatives, addressing inquiries related to active funding management, including budget adjustments and policy clarifications.
  3. Grant Oversight: Collaborating closely with program and accounting teams to ensure the execution of funded projects, including budget management and invoicing.
  4. Reporting Duties: Facilitating the creation of necessary reports for funders in accordance with award agreements, ensuring timely submissions.
  5. Compliance Management: Ensuring adherence to grant award conditions and proactively addressing potential compliance issues by coordinating with various departments.
  6. Impact Measurement: Utilizing tools such as Excel and Salesforce to track and report on government-funded activities, assisting program teams in evaluation efforts.
  7. Award Closeout: Collaborating with principal investigators and accounting to finalize government funding expenditures and manage reporting requirements.
  8. Additional Tasks: Engaging in special projects as directed by departmental needs.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A strong understanding of the mission and objectives of the University City Science Center.
  • Proven experience in managing government funding, including grants and contracts.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling updates across various programmatic areas.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • The capability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, fostering professional relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in economic development, technology commercialization, or related fields is advantageous.
Experience and Education

Candidates should have:

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in fundraising and project management, particularly with federal and state grants.
  • A BA/BS degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
