Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical First Assistant to join our team at MetaSense Inc. As a key member of our surgical team, you will provide critical support to our vascular surgeons during complex procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons during surgery, ensuring the availability and functioning of surgical equipment.
  • Transport patients to and from the operating room, prep patients for surgery, and serve as first or second assistant to the surgeon.
  • Ensure the operating room is equipped with necessary equipment and supplies for each procedure.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe working environment, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and perfusionists.
Requirements
  • Certification as a Surgical First Assistant or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as surgical procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the surgical team.
  • Ability to lift, move, and position patients safely and efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with endoscopic vein harvesting.
  • Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures related to patient care and safety.
  • Ability to analyze situations and apply critical thinking to resolve problems.
