About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical First Assistant-Tech to join our team at MetaSense Inc. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring the availability and functioning of surgical equipment.
  • Transport patients to and from the operating room, prepare patients for surgery, and assist with surgical procedures.
  • Ensure the operating room is equipped with all necessary equipment and supplies for specific procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and perfusionists, to ensure seamless communication and execution of procedures.
  • Anticipate and plan for regulatory changes and space needs affecting the service, identifying opportunities for program expansion and development.

Requirements:

  • Certified Surgical Assistant, Certified Surgical Technologist, or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist or LPN, with certification as a Surgical First Assist.
  • High School Education/GED with completion of Surgical First Assist Program and 5 years of Surgical First Assistant experience and certification as a Surgical First Assist.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours, with a strong focus on patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with endoscopic vein harvesting.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, with a strong understanding of surgical procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to analyze situations and apply critical thinking, with a focus on problem-solving and decision-making.
