Operating Room First Assistant Travel Nurse Job

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a skilled Operating Room First Assistant to join our team of travel nurses. As a travel nurse with Cross Country, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of settings and locations, while enjoying the benefits of a stable and supportive employer.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operating Room First Assistant to join our team. As a travel nurse with Cross Country, you will work as the primary assistant to the surgeon during surgery, preparing and using surgical equipment and instruments, cutting and handling tissue, controlling bleeding, monitoring patient status, and bandaging wounds.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgeon during surgery, preparing and using surgical equipment and instruments
  • Prepare and handle tissue, control bleeding, and monitor patient status
  • Bandage wounds and assist with post-operative care
  • Work collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient surgical procedures
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have at least 1 year of recent acute care experience in a specialty. You must also be a registered nurse with a current license and certification as an Operating Room First Assistant.
