About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant to join our team at Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Hospital Association dba Thomas Hospitals. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and other perioperative team members in the care of patients during surgical procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain a safe and efficient operating room environment.
  • Provide direct patient care, including positioning, draping, and maintaining asepsis.
  • Assist with closure of body planes and selection of wound dressings.
  • Participate in the decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a surgical technology accredited surgical assisting program.
  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certifications.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Two years of progressive clinical scrub experience in a CST role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recommendation from three different multi-specialty surgeons to validate skill competency.

  • Exposure to electrical current and radiation from x-rays.

  • Ability to work successfully under stressful conditions and adapt to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis.
  • Ability to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures.
