This role is pivotal in overseeing the daily functions and management of a retail outlet, particularly in the absence of the store leader. The individual in this position is actively involved in selling both donated and new products to generate profit by executing the following responsibilities personally or through team members.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Inform customers and the community about the organization’s mission and vision.
  • Exemplify our core values through both actions and communication.
  • Achieve daily store production targets and standards.
  • Implement Kaizen principles to ensure a consistent flow of donations to the sales area and maintain clear production and dock zones.
  • Foster a safe shopping and working environment by adhering to and enforcing all safety policies and procedures.
  • Uphold security and loss prevention protocols, ensuring accurate processing and reporting of sales transactions, and that all funds are collected, counted, and deposited appropriately.
  • Provide a positive, courteous, and efficient experience for customers and donors alike.
  • Contribute to the attainment of monthly and annual sales objectives, ensuring the store meets the designated expense-to-revenue ratio.
  • Assist in the training, supervision, and scheduling of store staff.
Supervisory Duties

This position directly oversees 2 subordinate management personnel and supervises over 8 non-management staff. Responsibilities also include the training and development of these employees, along with planning, assigning, and directing tasks; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining staff; addressing concerns and resolving issues.

To succeed in this role, an individual must be capable of performing each essential duty effectively. Education and Experience

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Language Proficiency

Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Proficiency

Ability to perform basic mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and to interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Skills

Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Proficiency

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have knowledge of necessary proprietary software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

A valid driver's license is required, along with a driving record acceptable to the Agency's automobile insurance liability carrier. Proof of insurance on a personal vehicle must also be provided.

Additional Skills and Abilities

Bilingual skills are a plus.

Other Requirements

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
