Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Driver Trainer to join our team at Hart to Heart Ambulance Service Inc. As a key member of our safety and training team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our drivers meet all safety and training requirements, including state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement safety and training programs to ensure compliance with client service contract requirements, state and federal regulations, and Hart to Heart Ambulance Service Inc training and safety guidelines.
  2. Supervise and coach safety and training staff, including behind-the-wheel training, and be responsible for hiring, discipline, and termination of employees.
  3. Provide classroom and on-vehicle training to new employees and retraining to existing employees, including retraining as part of disciplinary and performance management efforts.
  4. Investigate training and safety problems with drivers and offer solutions.
  5. Administer the fleet safety program, ensuring consistency with Hart to Heart Ambulance Service Inc safety policy and procedures, and aimed at reducing motor vehicle accidents and increasing employee safety awareness and knowledge.
  6. Coordinate claims process with the company vehicle and liability insurance carrier and coordinate with the General Manager on loss control and claims management responsibilities.
  7. Maintain data on trainees, licenses, drug and alcohol program, and other training activity, as well as safety data and trends.
  8. Maintain driver and other safety-sensitive employee qualifications files.
Requirements
  1. Valid Class C Driver's License (must have license for 3+ years).
  2. Age 21+.
  3. Must pass a DOT physical and drug test.
  4. High School Diploma or GED required.
  5. 3-5 years operations experience in a safety-sensitive environment, including OSHA, MIS, FMSCA, FTA, DOT, and other federal compliance experience.
  6. 5+ years previous supervisory experience.
  7. Proven adult classroom instructor experience, with experience developing a training syllabus a plus.
  8. Must be able to demonstrate poise, tact, diplomacy, and possess good judgment and discretion.
  9. Superior communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  10. Ability to use standard PC workstation and facility with use of all MS Office applications required; general knowledge of database technology preferred.
  11. Knowledge of Web Risk, Trans Trak, or similar computerized reporting systems preferred.
  12. Must have better than average knowledge of the area.
  13. Must possess the ability to lead and motivate associates.
  14. Detail and task-oriented, well-organized, and possess effective time management skills.
  15. Proven customer service and interpersonal skills a must.
  16. Must be a team-player and possess the ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers on all levels and be able to work well with diverse groups.
  17. Must possess or be able to attain certification as a Transit Trainer.
  18. Ability to have regular and predictable attendance, ability to work flexible schedules, including various shifts, weekends, holidays, and split days off.
