Law Firm Billing Specialist

Our client, a leading global law firm, is seeking a highly experienced Billing Manager to join its team in the US. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of seven to eight direct reports, providing exceptional client service and support, and ensuring adherence to firm and client policies.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing teams, providing training and development opportunities, and implementing processes to improve efficiency and productivity. You will work closely with Billing Supervisors and Regional Billing Managers to identify and resolve issues, provide recommendations to the Billing Leadership Team, and collaborate with various teams to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage a team of seven to eight direct reports and contribute to the development and advancement of the leadership team by setting goals for performance and deadlines that comply with the Billing Department's plans and vision.
• Regularly meet with Billing Supervisors and Regional Billing Managers to discuss progress, address roadblocks, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with billing attorney/secretary, members of the Billing and eBilling Teams, and various teams within Accounting, Finance, and Pricing to coordinate corrective action when addressing and resolving issues preventing billing submissions and electronic billing submission assignments.
• Perform ad hoc analyses of complex client accounts regarding billing histories, matter performance metrics, and reduced and rejected invoices, and present this information that adheres to the highest level of client service standards and expectations within a law firm and professional services environment.
• Work with Billing Supervisors and Regional Managers as a team member to support current billing processes, schedules, and workloads that promote effective work practices for the Billing Team.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in legal billing, with a focus on team management and process improvement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make recommendations for improvement.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ability to learn new software quickly.
Estimated Salary: $185,000-$220,000 per year.
