Position Summary

Portland General Electric is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Category Manager to join our team of dedicated professionals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and executing successful category strategies, driving cost savings and process improvements, and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies for IT procurement, including hardware, software, and services.
  • Lead complex negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Manage high-stakes supplier relationships and performance, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks within the IT category.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, to understand business needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, information technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT procurement or category management.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Advanced strategic planning and execution.
  • Extensive market and industry expertise.
  • Leadership and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to influence and drive change at an organizational level.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful category strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: $104,325 - $173,875 per year.
