Job Title: Fire Protection Systems Designer

Location: CivicMinds, Inc.

Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Fire Protection Systems Designer to join our team at CivicMinds, Inc. The ideal candidate will have expertise in HydraCAD and Revit software and a passion for designing fire protection systems. As a Designer, you will play a crucial role in the design and coordination of fire sprinkler systems for projects of various sizes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize HydraCAD and Revit to design fire sprinkler systems, standpipes, fire pumps, and other specialized water-based systems.
  • Perform calculations for fire sprinkler systems in accordance with project requirements and regulations set by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
  • Prepare and submit plans to the AHJ in a timely manner to obtain necessary permits for construction.
  • Coordinate designed fire sprinkler systems with other trades as per the project's Building Information Modeling (BIM) requirements.
  • Ensure that designed and coordinated systems are suitable for fabrication, meeting industry standards and project specifications.
  • Occasionally conduct on-site surveys to gather relevant information for project design and coordination.
  • Provide support for other aspects of the project as needed during its course.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in HydraCAD and Revit software.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA codes, California Fire Code, and fire protection industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry practices.
  • Positive attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
