Position Summary:
The Patient Services Coordinator is essential in welcoming and registering patients upon their arrival at the facility.

This role is crucial for ensuring a positive experience for patients, as they are the initial point of contact when making appointments or visiting the office.

The Patient Services Coordinator oversees all front desk functions, which encompass, but are not limited to:

• Scheduling patient appointments

• Managing incoming calls

• Digitizing medical records

• Assessing patient inquiries based on urgency

• Collecting and verifying insurance details

• Processing charges and recording payments.


All staff members are expected to support the objectives and mission of Mercy Medical Center, particularly the dedication to providing patients with seamless access to high-quality care, service, and value.

Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or GED

Prior experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous but not mandatory

Ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions when necessary

Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact courteously with colleagues, visitors, patients, healthcare providers, and the public

Flexibility, integrity, and the capability to collaborate effectively with team members

Adaptability to the evolving needs of the organization, its patients, and the healthcare landscape

Proactive contribution to a supportive and friendly workplace

Active involvement in enhancing the patient experience.
