Job Overview

Objective: Facilitate shop operations to ensure a safe and efficient process aligned with the OEM production system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement systems aimed at enhancing process capability.
  • Recognize special process characteristics and establish necessary control limits.
  • Conduct, maintain, and enhance countermeasures for potential failure mode and effects analysis.
  • Develop content for Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) inspections to aid in process control.
  • Oversee continuous improvement initiatives related to model changes, new technologies, process modifications, and cost reduction.
  • Guarantee product and process integrity through the application of Master Production Schedule (MPS) and regular process audits.
  • Formulate processes while ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Execute process capability studies and audits to uphold the highest product quality standards.
  • Investigate process and product issues, implementing and verifying effective solutions in collaboration with various departments.
  • Ensure optimal operational conditions for equipment and processes.
  • Assess workstation layouts, establish standard times based on empirical data, and validate process times for optimized design.
  • Prepare for product changes and evaluate their impact on processes, equipment, and tooling.
  • Engage in production trials with relevant departments and ensure resolution of any concerns.
  • Assist in addressing issues identified during quality audits.
  • Create specifications for equipment and tooling.
  • Support training initiatives for assembly team members and leaders regarding process modifications.
  • Evaluate alternative production methods and assess their feasibility.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Analyze the impact of engineering changes on shop processes.
  • Conduct error analysis and implement countermeasures.
  • Draft rework and repair procedures.
  • Verify production readiness through reviews.
  • Prepare formal reports to communicate project status.
  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving meetings.
  • Analyze production metrics, including downtime and quality concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills:

  • A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in automotive engineering or equivalent fields such as process, maintenance, design, or project management.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Analytical problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Proficiency in the German language.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work typically performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop environment, involving physical activities such as sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Must adhere to all relevant safety practices.
