Manufacturing Process Specialist

OBJECTIVE:
Facilitate shop operations to ensure a safe and efficient production process aligned with the OEM production framework.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enhance systems to boost process capability. Recognize unique process characteristics and establish necessary control limits. Conduct, maintain, and devise countermeasures for potential failure mode and effects analysis.
Formulate the content of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) inspections to aid in process control. Oversee continuous improvement initiatives for model alterations, new technologies, process adjustments, and cost reduction strategies. Guarantee product and process integrity through the implementation of Master Production Schedule (MPS) and routine process audits. Develop processes while ensuring adherence to safety, ergonomics, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Execute process capability studies and audits as necessary to uphold the highest product quality standards.
Investigate process and product issues, implementing and validating effective countermeasures in collaboration with Group Leaders, Team Leaders, Team Members, and various departments including SQE, PPS, EVS, PE, PCS, and development teams, utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies.
Ensure optimal equipment and process conditions.Assess workstation layouts, establish standard times based on empirical data, and validate process durations to ensure optimized process design.
Prepare for product transitions and their implications on processes, equipment, and tooling. Engage in production trials with relevant departments and confirm resolution of any concerns. Assist in addressing issues raised from quality audits, including GFP and CPA, as well as APA audits. Generate specifications for equipment and tooling. Facilitate training for assembly team members, team leaders, and group leaders regarding process modifications.Evaluate alternative production methodologies and determine their feasibility.
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:
Assess the impact of engineering modifications on shop processes. Conduct error analysis and implement countermeasures. Draft rework and repair protocols. Confirm production readiness through SMP evaluations. Compile formal reports to communicate project status effectively. Lead cross-functional problem-solving meetings with other departments. Analyze production metrics (downtime, FTC, quality issues, and TPM).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
A minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in areas such as automotive engineering or equivalent engineering experience (e.g., process, maintenance, design, and/or project management). Proficient in MS Office. Strong problem-solving abilities in a collaborative team environment.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Analytical problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Proficiency in the German language. Familiarity with AutoCAD.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is typically conducted in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop environment, involving physical activities such as sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
