The State of Nevada-Judicial Branch is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead its Information Technology (IT) division. The CIO will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, development, and implementation of innovative IT solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of court operations for both the Nevada Appellate Courts and trial courts.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the court's strategic plan, mission, and goals.
- Provide leadership and direction to the IT department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and support.
- Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to identify and prioritize technology initiatives.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures.
- IT Operations and Management:
- Ensure effective management of the IT department's daily operations, including infrastructure, applications, security, and support services.
- Oversee and enhance the court's IT systems and infrastructure, prioritizing reliability, security, and scalability to meet current and future operational demands effectively.
- Develop and manage IT budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to optimize cost-effectiveness and service delivery.
- Team Development and Management:
- Recruit, train, and mentor IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Set performance objectives, conduct performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Promote teamwork, collaboration, and effective communication within the IT department and across the organization.
- Innovation and Technology Implementation:
- Drive the adoption of new technologies and innovative solutions to improve court processes and services.
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of IT projects with the management and project management teams, ensuring they meet functional requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Security and Compliance:
- Review the IT Security Team's development and enforcement of IT security policies, standards, and procedures to protect sensitive court information.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and best practices related to IT and data management.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale IT projects and initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, applications, security, and emerging technologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in the public sector, particularly within the judicial system, is highly desirable.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, PMP, ITIL) are a plus.
- University level degree, Master's degree preferred. Combination of schooling and experience will be considered.
