Job Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor is a key member of the hotel's operations team, responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of guest rooms and public areas. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Services: Greet and assist guests in a timely and friendly manner, responding to requests and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Room Assignments: Obtain lists of rooms to be cleaned and assign daily tasks to Room Attendants, ensuring that all areas of the hotel are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Team Management: Assist the Assistant Housekeeping Manager with hiring, training, and disciplining employees as needed, ensuring that all staff members are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
  • Quality Control: Perform daily inspections of rooms to ensure that they meet the hotel's cleanliness standards, and assist in investigating any complaints regarding housekeeping services.
  • Training and Development: Assist in conducting orientation and in-service training for Room Attendants, ensuring that they are aware of policies, procedures, and equipment usage.
  • Inventory Management: Check inventory levels to ensure that adequate supplies are always available, and assist in performing monthly inventory checks.
  • Additional Duties: Perform guest room cleaning duties in cases of staff shortages, attend meetings as required, and complete payroll for the department as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff in a clear and professional manner.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to use computers and communicate via email.
  • Other Skills: Ability to work with minimal supervision, operate equipment such as copiers and computers, and lift up to 50 pounds.
