Position Overview

The Program Manager at the Portman Center will collaborate closely with the Executive Director to establish and enhance the fundamental operations of the Center. This includes responsibilities in programming, outreach initiatives, student assistance, financial oversight, and staff management.

Key Responsibilities


• Oversee, design, develop, adapt, and deliver programs. Conduct assessments to identify program needs and provide recommendations.


• Enforce policies and procedures effectively.


• Manage the budget, prepare contracts, authorize and track expenditures, and compile budget requests and financial statements.


• Serve as a liaison to internal departments, external organizations, student representatives, advisory board members, donors, and community groups.


• Draft and refine reports and/or newsletters and create promotional materials.


• Provide direct and/or indirect supervision to both exempt and non-exempt personnel (including hiring/firing, performance assessments, disciplinary actions, and approving time off).


• Execute related tasks as needed by the Center.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree. Seven (7) years of pertinent work experience or equivalent specialized training may substitute for educational requirements.

Required Experience

Three (3) years of relevant experience.

• Experience in an academic or public policy environment is highly regarded.
