About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist I (PRN) to join our team at St. Joseph Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare. As a Clinical Lab Scientist I, you will play a vital role in the diagnostic process, contributing significantly to patient care and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids to aid in the diagnosis of diseases and conditions.
  • Interpret lab test results and identify any abnormalities.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of these results to assist doctors in making informed decisions about patient care.
  • Implement and monitor the quality control program to maintain high standards in laboratory testing, including calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory tests performed and their results, input data into our laboratory information systems.
  • Ensure all laboratory operations comply with hospital policies, governmental regulations, and accreditation requirements.

Requirements:

  • ASCP certification, or equivalent, required within 1 year of employment.
  • One year hospital laboratory work experience preferred, but not required.
  • Bachelors degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological Science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements as stated in CLIA (42 CFR).
  • Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.
