MHealth Fairview Northeast Clinics is seeking a Casual Clinical Laboratory Specialist. This role offers flexibility with no fixed schedule, allowing for varied hours starting as early as 6:30 AM and concluding by 8:30 PM. Opportunities for weekend shifts are available.

Key Responsibilities:
The Clinical Laboratory Specialist is essential in delivering high-quality laboratory services to a diverse patient population within an outpatient healthcare setting. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting waived, moderate, or high complexity testing.
- Interpreting data and understanding technical conditions that may influence test outcomes.
- Executing quality control measures in accordance with established protocols.
- Participating in specimen collection and ensuring secure handling of samples.
- Maintaining efficient laboratory workflow and scheduling tests as necessary.
Job Expectations:
Adhere to established protocols for specimen collection, testing, and reporting results. The role demands a commitment to laboratory customer service standards, which include:
- Fostering teamwork and effective communication.
- Engaging in conflict resolution.
- Supporting laboratory SOPs and quality assurance initiatives.
- Recognizing trends and determining when additional reporting or communication is warranted.
Compliance with all regulatory policies is essential.
Additional Duties:
Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
- Certification from a Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) approved laboratory organization (e.g., ASCP, AAB, or AMT). If not certified upon hire, certification must be obtained within 12 months.
- BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.
Preferred:
- At least one year of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Specialist in either an outpatient or acute care setting.
Essential Skills:
Proficient phlebotomy skills are required for this position.
