About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Social Service Worker I to join our team at the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing essential services to families and children in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate allegations of child abuse, neglect, and/or dependency, and conduct thorough assessments to determine the best course of action.
  • Meet with family members to discuss concerns and develop a plan to address issues and promote family stability.
  • Collaborate with community partners, such as law enforcement, schools, and social services, to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting families.
  • Develop and implement case plans to address specific needs and goals, and provide ongoing support and guidance to families.
  • Enter case information into our database and maintain accurate records to ensure effective tracking and evaluation of services.
  • Prepare and present court reports and testimony as needed, and participate in administrative and judicial hearings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials.
