We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Representative to join our team at MSI, a leading supplier of flooring tile, countertops, wall and backsplash tile and hardscaping surfaces products in North America.

Job Overview

This role involves growing and developing the sales and margins of our hardscape product lines with our retailer/dealer network within an assigned geographic territory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop relationships with current customers and potential customers within specific territories.
  • Provide knowledge and training on our company products to store personnel, ensuring they can effectively present and negotiate with consumers.
  • Understand our products, market competition, and position them to overcome these factors.
  • Manage displays, samples, and selling tools for customer availability.
  • Analyze retail business financials to consult with dealers on retail pricing, advertising, promotions, and ROI.
  • Quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales contracts for customer orders.
  • Estimate delivery dates based on knowledge of company delivery schedules.
  • Analyze sales reports to identify sales potential with current customers and potential new customers.
  • Utilize marketing tools like catalogs, brochures, and vendor collateral to broaden reach and promote our products.
  • Research and analyze customer needs and demands based on market information.
  • Investigate and resolve customer claims/problems with deliveries, returns, and credits.
  • Attend trade shows as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Two plus years' experience in channel distribution sales.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related industry experience in natural stone, hardscaping, landscaping, or hard flooring industries.
  • Strong math skills to calculate figures and amounts like discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, and volume.
  • Ability to determine solutions for customers.
  • Results-oriented with ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • Confidence and motivation to work toward targets.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well alone or within a team.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Resilience to deal with customers who decline offers.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
