Job Summary:

This is a non-exempt position responsible for making surgical procedural appointments for patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Scheduling and Notification: Schedules procedure appointments for patients and notifies them by phone. When unable to reach by phone, sends letters of notification via mail to the patient's home address.
  2. System Management: Uses a computerized system to match physician/clinician availability with patient preferences in terms of date and time.
  3. Update Management: Ensures that updates (e.g., cancellations or additions) are made throughout the day in a timely manner.
  4. Slot Filling: Works to fill vacated slots with others waiting on procedure appointments to be assigned.
  5. Communication: Communicates as needed with the ASC Nurse Manager about any patient concerns/issues related to scheduling or system problems.
  6. Customer Service: Uses customer service principles and techniques to deal with patients professionally and pleasantly.
Requirements:

High School diploma or GED diploma; minimum one (1) year of experience in a medical scheduling position preferred.
