We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist to join our team at Hardin Medical Center. As a Medical Records Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality, security, and physical safety of patient medical records.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to Payer requests for patient records, retrieving and transmitting them appropriately.
- Document releases and communications in the electronic health record and/or tracking system.
- Review medical records for compliance with approved policies.
- Perform other clerical tasks as needed, such as answering phones, faxing, and scanning documents.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of one year experience in a medical office or hospital setting.
- Previous file clerk and/or medical records clerk experience preferred.
This job operates in a professional office environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk, or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
