The Registered Nurse serves as a vital healthcare provider within the MCHS Family of Services, focusing on the delivery of preventive medical care and health services. This role involves the development, coordination, and execution of individualized medical care plans, addressing health issues, and facilitating appropriate referrals.
- Provide comprehensive medical care and treatment for all clients under the agency's supervision.
- Administer medications to youth residents, ensuring compliance with immunization schedules and medication management protocols. Monitor and review staff documentation related to medication administration.
- Maintain precise and thorough medical records for all children receiving care, whether in residential or community settings.
- Act as a medical liaison with external community organizations to ensure that the healthcare needs of all youth in MCHS programs are adequately met.
- Order, analyze, and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results to inform medication management and physical examinations.
- Oversee the administration of prescription medications for youth in care and provide training to agency staff on medical protocols, CPR, First Aid, and medication administration.
- Join a dynamic and enthusiastic clinical team dedicated to providing exceptional care in a supportive environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) or equivalent Registered Nurse qualification with at least five (5) years of experience in pediatric or adolescent healthcare.
- Must possess a valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan.
- Successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
- Certification in AED/CPR and First Aid is required.
