Position Summary:

The Estimator is integral to evaluating project needs, analyzing expenses, and generating precise estimates for landscaping and snow management contracts, as well as property enhancement and design initiatives.

A strong background in landscape maintenance and snow removal is essential, with preference given to candidates with degrees in landscape architecture, horticulture, or related disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess project scope, specifications, drawings, and site conditions to produce accurate estimates.
  • Conduct site measurements for work elements, both virtually and physically.
  • Perform detailed cost forecasting, covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
  • Identify necessary equipment allocations and adjust estimate values accordingly.
  • Prepare comprehensive and professional bid proposals, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
  • Recognize potential project risks and devise strategies to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate with project managers and sales teams to establish and manage project budgets.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to gather information and address inquiries.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market pricing, and emerging technologies to enhance estimate accuracy.
  • Maintain organized documentation of estimating processes, including data and methodologies.
  • Review historical data from previous projects as necessary.
  • Resolve any quality issues that arise.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Estimator in the landscaping and snow management industry.
  • Strong understanding of landscape materials, construction methods, and industry best practices.
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
