Job Description

This role involves overseeing field activities associated with the project, including supervision of electrical and mechanical subcontractors and self-performed work. The successful candidate will maintain constant contact with subcontractors to ensure timely work, guarantee equipment delivery, and manage budgets exceeding $10 million to $50 million. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining liaison with primary clients, A/E firms, Owner's Rep firms, construction project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to facilitate construction activities.
  • Establishing and managing critical work environment project objectives, performance standards, planning, and Methods of Procedure within corporate policies.
  • Providing leadership for all field-related MEP mission-critical work activities and coordinating with Construction Project Managers and Subcontractors for proper execution.
  • Keeping all relevant parties informed of project progress throughout its lifecycle.
  • Demonstrating a detailed understanding of all MEP systems, including sizing, costs, scheduling, quality control focus points, system start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Managing financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company's interest while maintaining good relationships with clients.
  • Ensuring secure project sites and company assets by implementing programs for safety/OSHA, Equal Employment Opportunity/EEO, risk management, training, and quality control.
  • Confirming reasonable extra charges from subcontractors/suppliers and coordinating with project managers for approval.
  • Facilitating weekly project progress and safety meetings with subcontractor representatives, coordinating upcoming work, attending progress meetings with owner's reps/data center construction project managers.
  • Ensuring the project closeout process is finalized, demobilizing resources, and transitioning the project to the client.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess 5+ years of commercial/critical facilities MEP construction experience, preferably with Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) experience. Additionally, they should have a detailed understanding of Mechanical and Electrical systems, integrated testing, MOPs/SOPs, installation functionality, and troubleshooting.

  • A strong background in directing and/or supporting commissioning efforts.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers, company communication tools, Microsoft products, and ability to create reports.
  • Construction/engineering/architectural degree or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in military/military veterans is highly valued.
