Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Property Underwriter to join our team at Homesite Group Incorporated. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for evaluating risk, determining eligibility, and documenting underwriting decisions for personal lines property insurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwriting and Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive underwriting reviews of new business policies for auto and home insurance, ensuring eligibility and matching rates to risk within established authority.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with sales agents to gather necessary information for underwriting decisions and collaborate with management to ensure accurate and timely processing of policies.
  • Policy Review and Documentation: Review auto, home, and umbrella renewals, making decisions on acceptance of policies within established authority, and documenting underwriting processes and procedures.
  • Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Possess demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, 2+ years' experience in personal lines property insurance, and basic knowledge of mathematical concepts to calculate loss ratios and other underwriting formulas.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2+ years' experience in personal lines property insurance.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication and collaboration skills, and basic knowledge of mathematical concepts.
