Job Overview

Job Type: 12 + months (Possibility of Extension and convertible into full-time)

Key Responsibilities

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with Scanning Electron Microscopes, troubleshooting, and electronic equipment repair, or a relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred: A 2-year associate degree in a technical discipline such as Electronic Engineering Technology, Microelectronics, or Mechatronics.
  • Military Technical Training may substitute for a technical degree.
Employee Development
  • Implement Individual Development Plans.
  • Provide coaching and training to team members.
Performance Management
  • Maintain and update production metrics on a weekly and daily/hourly basis.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to enhance participation.
  • Address production challenges effectively.
  • Perform evaluations and facilitate feedback exchanges.
  • Deliver written performance updates to the Production Supervisor at the end of shifts.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives
  • Lead and oversee Process Improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Participate in meetings, monitor project progress, and report on key metrics.
  • Analyze and enhance procedures and production methods to boost quality and productivity.
  • Conduct audits and implement improvements based on findings.
  • Drive safety initiatives and manage the 6S program.
Equipment Management
  • Act as the primary contact for the Manufacturing Team regarding equipment failures.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with circuit boards, cabling, and vacuum pumps.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on advanced electronic systems.
  • Monitor equipment uptime using Key Performance Indicators and schedule repairs proactively.
  • Install and qualify new Scanning Electron Microscope equipment as required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in low volume, complex manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to lead a team effectively.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience, including 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Validated experience in a related industry with expertise in Scanning Electron Microscopes and high-tech equipment repair.
  • Preferred experience in Electronics and Ultra High Vacuum environments.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting Scanning Electron Microscopes at the component level.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications is a plus.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Proficient in using Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, and Soldering Irons.
  • Knowledge of Scanning Electron Microscopes and data acquisition techniques.
  • Understanding of Electronics Manufacturing and Equipment Repair.
  • Ability to interpret work instructions and schematic drawings for troubleshooting.
  • Capable of analyzing and resolving problems independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and self-motivated work ethic.
  • Demonstrated ability in coaching, mentoring, and team building.
  • Experience in fast-paced manufacturing settings.
  • Comfortable working in cleanroom environments with appropriate PPE.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
