Position Overview

The Interventional Radiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) team at Emory Healthcare is expanding, presenting opportunities for seasoned APPs to engage in a new procedural role.

Emory Healthcare seeks skilled Physician Assistants or Acute Care Nurse Practitioners to enhance our growing Interventional Radiology APP service line. The Procedural APPs will be responsible for patient care at Emory University Hospital and the Winship Cancer Institute.

The ideal candidate will possess 2 to 3 years of procedural experience as a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, with prior experience in Interventional Radiology being essential. The role anticipates 6-12 procedures daily, encompassing both inpatient and outpatient cases.

This position operates on a 4-10 schedule, with no call, overnight, or weekend obligations.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for full-time Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners for a specialized procedural role within our Interventional Radiology team.

Requirements for Nurse Practitioner candidates: Must be Acute Care certified (ACNP or AGACNP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in evaluating and treating patients.
  • Document care delivery in medical records.
  • Conduct patient interviews and document comprehensive histories, including psychosocial aspects and health status.
  • Perform physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under physician supervision.
  • Collaborate with physicians to diagnose medical issues, formulate care plans, and prescribe treatments.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current licensure as an advanced practice nurse in Georgia and certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Possession of necessary state licensure.
  • At least one year of direct experience in high-acuity clinical specialties may be required.
  • BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications are mandatory; ACLS may be required in certain areas.
