Job Title: Global Director of Quality

Job Summary:

The Global Director of Quality is a key leadership position responsible for representing the customer and supplier relations related to quality and service. This role manages and supervises Quality Engineers and Quality Supervisors, with a total of up to 25 non-supervisory employees in the Quality Engineering and Reject Repair departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a closed-loop, integrated warranty analysis system utilizing current technology to provide quick and efficient access to warranty data.
  • Provide leadership for the analysis team to achieve a high rate of root cause identification in warranty products, reducing warranty expense and quantity of "no trouble found" results.
  • Review analysis results with customer counterparts to ensure root cause ownership is appropriately defined.
  • Utilize data from the analysis process to drive improvement actions through the appropriate product team.
  • Develop close working relationships with key customer counterparts.
  • Responsible for the development and adherence to policies, procedures, and instructions of the Quality, MMOG, and ISO 14001 systems.
  • Committed to a safe and accident-free work environment.
  • Product/Model PCP development and maintenance.
  • Facilitate cross-functional Preventative & Corrective action plans based on internal and external quality results.
  • Mentor cross-functional teams for effective "root cause" analysis, and corrective and preventative action.
  • Coordination of customer visits.
  • QA portion of APQP on product launches.
  • Resolving critical issues/situations ensuring they are handled correctly and within current policy/procedure guidelines.
  • Quality representative in Lean activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, technology, or physical science discipline.
  • 5-10 years experience in Tier 1 & Tier 2 Automotive, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and Customer/Supplier relationships.
  • 3+ years of experience with assembly of complex mechanical assemblies.
  • 3+ years of Lean manufacturing operational theory, principles, and tools.
  • 3+ years of experience prioritizing and assigning tasks, and accurately estimating the time and costs required for project completion.
  • Experience in creating, developing, adapting, and communicating tool design concepts based on input from internal and external customers using advanced design tools (ACAD) and techniques a plus.
