Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain Health Department records and lesson rosters.
- Supervise shifts and orient new team members.
- Ensure staff certifications are up to date.
- Manage First Aid supplies and respond to emergencies.
- Enforce aquatic safety rules and maintain a clean environment.
- Conduct chemical readings and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Lead lifeguard training sessions and certification classes.
- Teach swim lessons and support the Aquatic Director in audits.
- Assist with scheduling and administrative tasks related to swim programs.
Compensation:
Compensation for this full-time position is set at $20.54 per hour, with a standard workweek of 40 hours.

Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with one to three months of lifeguarding experience or a comparable combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience in aquatics is preferred. Candidates must be proficient in computer use and capable of responding swiftly to emergencies while interacting positively with diverse populations.
Certifications Required:
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification (to be obtained within 180 days of hire).
- YMCA Swim Instructor Certification (to be obtained within 90 days of hire).
- First Aid and AED Certifications.
- Blood Borne Pathogen training.
- State of Michigan criminal background clearance.
Work Environment:
