Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operates logistics machinery in line with established specifications, schedules, safety objectives, and quality benchmarks.
  • Receives incoming shipments, verifying for any damages and ensuring accuracy against invoices.
  • Picks, packs, receives, and dispatches outgoing orders in accordance with requests.
  • Loads and unloads delivery vehicles, often requiring physical handling of products weighing up to 85 lbs.
  • Organizes and categorizes warehouse inventory by product skew and physical arrangement, ensuring ample space for forklift operations.
  • Prepares and submits regular reports on damaged or outdated stock, discrepancies in shipments, and returns to vendors, while segregating defective items from regular inventory.
  • Assists in confirming the accuracy of all incoming and outgoing products regarding quantity, size, and type.
  • Alerts management to inventory shortages and assists in periodic inventory audits.
  • Operates powered industrial vehicles (such as forklifts and pallet jacks) safely, maintaining an operator license as necessary.
  • Inputs data into logistics management systems to keep records current and retrieves information to address inquiries.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in operating forklifts and handling materials in confined spaces and narrow aisles, including loading and unloading semi-trailers.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and familiarity with logistics management systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately.
  • Exhibits teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude as a collaborative team member.
  • Capable of thriving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Must successfully complete pre-hire assessments and skills tests.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check, physical examination, and drug screening.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a logistics or warehouse environment is preferred.
  • Interest in lean/process improvement methodologies is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent reaching, grasping, bending, and stooping motions.
  • Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 20 lbs independently, with occasional lifting of up to 35 lbs, and heavier weights with mechanical assistance.
  • Frequent repetitive motions involving substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Ability to read work instructions and detect imperfections in products.
  • Capability to work in environments with varying temperature levels and limited climate control.
  • Effective communication skills in a noisy environment, with the ability to understand and relay instructions while using hearing protection.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibrations.
