Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operates logistics machinery in compliance with operational guidelines, schedules, safety objectives, and quality benchmarks.
  • Receives incoming shipments, verifies for damages, and ensures accuracy against invoices.
  • Picks, packs, and processes outgoing orders in accordance with specifications.
  • Handles loading and unloading of delivery vehicles, often requiring physical effort to move items weighing up to 85lbs.
  • Organizes and categorizes warehouse inventory by product SKU and physical layout, ensuring ample space for forklift navigation.
  • Regularly compiles reports on damaged or outdated inventory, over and under shipments, and manages returns to vendors, while segregating defective items.
  • Assists in confirming the accuracy of all incoming and outgoing products regarding quantity, size, and type.
  • Alerts management about inventory shortages and participates in periodic inventory counts.
  • Operates powered industrial vehicles (such as forklifts and pallet jacks) safely and maintains necessary operator certifications.
  • Inputs data into logistics management systems to keep records current and retrieves information to address inquiries.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in operating forklifts and managing materials in confined spaces and narrow aisles, including loading and unloading semi-trailers.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and operation of logistics management software.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Exhibits teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude as a collaborative contributor.
  • Capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a knack for identifying and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment assessments and background checks.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a logistics or warehouse setting is preferred.
  • Interest in lean/process improvement methodologies is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent reaching, grasping, bending, and stooping.
  • Ability to independently pull or push up to 20 lbs, with occasional handling of up to 35 lbs and heavier weights with assistance.
  • Frequent lifting and moving of items, with the ability to engage in repetitive motions involving substantial wrist and hand movement.
  • Good vision for reading instructions and identifying product imperfections.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures and limited climate control.
  • Effective communication skills in noisy environments, including the ability to hear and understand instructions while using hearing protection.
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibrations.
