Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Adult Day Habilitation Program Manager to join our team at East Alabama Mental Health Center. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Adult Day Habilitation program, ensuring the safety and well-being of our consumers, and providing instruction in Basic Living Skills and Family Support and Education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise consumer activities, including completion of daily chores, outings, training, grooming, bathing, toileting, meal-time activities, and ensure consumer safety.
  • Oversee and coordinate the implementation of treatment/service plans, including behavior management and contingency programs.
  • Provide instruction in Basic Living Skills and Family Support and Education as outlined in the consumer's treatment plan and under the direction of a therapist.
  • Assist consumers as needed, to include lifting and other physical intervention as needed, and may administer consumer medication as prescribed by a physician.
  • Report and document incidents and unusual problems to supervisory or on-call staff, and model appropriate social skills.
  • Ensure consumer rights are observed and protected, and ensure consumer clothing needs are met and that consumer is provided a suitable living environment.
  • Complete program chores as assigned, and follow menus approved by dietician.
  • Assist with menu planning, following menus, and preparation of meals, and ensure that meals are served family style and that appropriate table manners are modeled by staff during meal time.
  • Responsible for reporting refusal of medications, medication side effects, or any problems with medication administration to nursing staff.
  • Assist in implementation of the consumer's treatment, habilitation, and/or service plans, and assist with implementation of the program's contingency program.
  • Implement behavior management procedures as assigned and/or as indicated by a contingency program or the individual's behavior plan.
  • Contacts consumer relatives or other significant others as appropriate, and completes fire drills, severe weather drills, and nightly bed checks.
  • Reviews consumer records to ensure familiarity with each consumer's social and medical history.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a human or social services field of study.
  • Valid driver's license for the state of Alabama and safe driving record.
  • Must meet conditional employment requirements.
  • Able to read, write, and speak in English.
  • Must be able to use good judgment in dealing with work-related issues.
  • Dependability is a key requirement for the position.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate work-related incidents to the appropriate persons.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with the hours being 7am - 3:30 M-F.
