About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Commodore Perry Estate, a luxurious hotel and private mansion. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences and working closely with our Executive Chef to create innovative menus and lead our culinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef: Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, staffing, and inventory management.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create and refine menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients, culinary trends, and guest preferences.
  • Food Preparation and Quality Control: Oversee food preparation activities, ensuring dishes are prepared according to recipes, quality standards, and food safety regulations.
  • Team Leadership: Train and supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance on culinary techniques, sanitation practices, and teamwork to maintain high levels of productivity and quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of food items, ensuring proper presentation, taste, and temperature, and addressing any issues or discrepancies promptly.

Requirements:

  • Culinary Experience: Minimum of two years experience in a Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef role.
  • Culinary Education: Culinary Certificate or Degree Preferred.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs.
  • Industry Experience: Experience at a luxury hospitality property.
