The Sales Development Specialist role at MSI offers an exciting opportunity to grow and develop sales and margins of MSI's countertop products with fabricators and K&B's, as well as the Tile product lines with retailer/dealer networks within an assigned geographic territory.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing relationships with current customers and potential customers within your specific territory. You will also provide knowledge and training on company products to store personnel, ensuring they can effectively present products and negotiate with consumers.

To succeed in this role, you must be able to complete essential duties and responsibilities, including:

  • Developing and implementing strategies to increase sales and market share
  • Assisting customers by providing product knowledge and training
  • Understanding market competition and positioning products to overcome these factors
  • Managing displays, samples, and selling tools for customer availability
  • Analyzing retail business financials to consult with dealers on pricing, advertising, promotions, and ROI
  • Quoting prices, discussing credit terms, and preparing sales contracts for customer orders
  • Estimating delivery dates based on company schedules
  • Reviewing and analyzing sales reports to identify sales potential with current and potential customers
  • Utilizing marketing tools such as catalogs, brochures, and vendor collateral to broaden reach and promote company products
  • Researching and analyzing customer needs and demands based on market information
  • Investigating and resolving customer claims/problems with deliveries, returns, and credits
  • Attending trade shows throughout the year as required
  • Traveling 40% - 80% locally, occasionally nationally and/or internationally

In addition to these responsibilities, the ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree, two-plus years of experience in channel distribution sales, and a minimum of two years of related industry experience in natural stone, slab, or hard flooring industries. They must also have strong math skills, ability to determine solutions for customers, results-oriented approach, intermediate computer proficiency, valid driver's license, excellent sales and negotiation skills, good communication and people skills, confidence and motivation to work towards targets, good organizational and time management skills, ability to work well alone or within a team, demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving, and resilience to deal with rejected proposals.

This role has physical demands that require regular use of hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reaching with hands and arms; communicating verbally; sitting frequently; standing or walking occasionally; lifting, pulling, and moving up to 25 pounds; and close vision.
